Erin Callahan
A horse-mad kid from a non-horsey family, growing up in Ocean Grove, Erin was very fortunate to be guided from a young age by the Lamperd family – Robin, Warren & then Murray. A successful junior eventing career included two wins at the prestigious Wandin Park Two Day Event (long format).
After completing secondary school, Erin initially spent a year in Europe as a groom and young horse rider for an eventing and polo stable in southern Austria.
On returning to Australia she then had a few years away from competing to focus on tertiary studies and establishing her ‘other’ career as a dentist.
Erin has since produced multiple horses through to FEI level eventing, both OTT TB’s and performance bred warmbloods. Horses she produced have gone on to be sold both internationally and domestically, to professional and amateur homes.
Her strengths as a young horse producer have been recognized with many wins and placings in Young horse Eventing classes at both ‘Dressage and Jumping with the Stars’ and the ‘Melbourne Three Day Event’.
Erin’s training philosophies are based largely on equitation science principles to prioritise horse and human welfare, emphasising the importance of correct basics as the required foundation for both higher level competition and producing a calm, confident and well prepared horse for any type of riding.
